Saltwater Eats is a culinary empowerment project that aims to give young Indigenous people the opportunity to take part in an experiential learning opportunity in the hospitality industry. People will have the opportunity to gain work experience in customer service, food preparation and food safety and if they choose to a certified qualification.
Experience will be gained at Rhythm & Ride, Saltwater Stories Exhibition and Saltwater Community Activations. Learning can take place over the course of the year with the opportunity to learn from Broome’s restauranteurs during guest lessons exploring Kimberley Foods.
Participants will have the opportunity to compete at Saltwater Smokehouse Competition once it is established.
